You can check out their other gear here: Road Runner Sports online store or you can get them in person at their locations around Southern California. They also have loose (not compression / tight) shorts that are 7” but I haven’t worn those. They also have loose cut 7″ Gear Inspiration Shorts if you don’t like to wear tight shorts to run. The Recharge Compression 6″ shorts are good too (again it depends on your body and needs) I like the Recharge Compression 8″ shorts I usually stick with the tight / compression style. They have tight options and loose ones that meet my length requirements. These are available at Road Runner Sports or online. Road Runner Sports 8” shorts or 6″ shorts. If I’m deciding between two pairs I’ll go with the longer ones. I need them to be at least 6″ long.Īlso – some companies have a certain short length in the description but they feel longer or shorter depending on the cut / style and how they sit on your hips and butt. But everyone’s different so figure out how long you like them and shop accordingly! There are some companies that offer 5″ length – depending on how you’re shaped that might work. I aim for shorts that are 6 to 8 inches long. I really love long running shorts and think they’re the key to avoiding thigh chafing. Just try the first two ways to avoid chafing. And you have to be careful about injuries since you won’t be running with a good stride… okay, never mind. And your running buddies might be too embarrassed to run with you. Step 3 is to run with your legs super far apart like you have a watermelon in between them. If you can’t prevent the rubbing – ease it with something like body glide, vaseline, deodorant (I saw someone do this at Ragnar) so the area doesn’t get raw. Sometimes there are just certain body parts that are going to get chafed from repetitive motion and sweat. Step 2 to avoid chafing is to use Vaseline or Body Glide to keep your skin from rubbing and getting irritated. Make sure it fits correctly and isn’t too tight or too loose. The best thing you can do is wear gear that fits correctly.Ĭhoose running clothes that don’t expose areas of skin that might rub together –> thighs and arms rubbing against your body are common culprits. Once chafing starts it’s hard to stop the irritation. Try to prevent any chafing issues before they even start. Step 1 to combat chafing is to have the best gear possible. Let me know your favorite running shorts in the comments in case another runner prefers your go-to gear! How to Avoid Thigh Chafing So here are a few options you can order via Amazon or other runner gear companies or find in your local running store or big retailers (Walmart and JC Penny carry some). I feel like I talk about them all the time! But the questions keep coming AND it was recently brought to my attention that my previous post about the best running shorts suggests Moving Comfort shorts – but they are no longer being made. Today I’m sharing information on my favorite running shorts.Įvery day I get questions on Instagram and Facebook asking “What running shorts are those?!” … OR … “Where did you get those running shorts – they look like the perfect length!?” But even if you don’t – you’ll love it more with the right running gear. Hello! How’s it going? It’s going HOT, right!? Summer running is in full swing! I love it.

All I can imagine is that this CyberTablet Z7 has some hardware similarity with the Trust Flex Design: surely there’s nothing looking more different in the world, really, the two tablet look definitely very different from each other, though the driver works and that’s all we need to know! Isn’t it? So, if you find the Flex Design Tablet in a store near you with a very convenient price and you just need a starter tablet to draw, or an extra one to bring with you in any damned place, man, this is probably the tablet you’r looking for!įirs of all, Thank you for this tip. There are pieces of information in various forums but nobody will tell you which model of tablet is supported and which driver you have to download. I really had an hard time finding a solution and there’s no blog post, for as far as I’ve seen, able of explaining how to solve this problem! It’s incredible that the Trust support won’t help a customer solve this small issue, since a driver’s out there indeed. But there’s a driver out there which will transform the tablet in a perfectly Mac OSX compatible device! You just have to go to this page and install the driver for the CyberTablet Z7, an Adesso tablet! The Flex will work like a charm, with full pressure levels support and all the rest, making you happy! It’s true that Trust has no support for this tablet on a Mac and it’s true that, if you try to contact them via mail, they’ll just tell you that you had to read the box better. It took the whole yesterday evening to come to a solution. There had to be a way to use the Flex on a Mac. Well, I bought it already and I simply never give up on software issues. I was surprised, in ArtRage the table worked but with no pressure levels… actually, pressure levels where random. Not to mention the impossibility to have pressure sensitivity. It didn’t work at all in PS: only some points here and there where drawn and there was no way to draw a normal brush stroke. Once at home, the tablet indeed worked plug and play, apparently: the screen size was exactly the same as the active area on the tablet, it could be used like a mouse, buttons where all working, I just had to to turn PhotoShop on and see how well the cheap tablet performed. Usually, any device works plug and play on a Mac, if it doesn’t, it’s just an easy to solve driver issue (and, usually, you don’t have to cry for days on google to find a way to install your drivers like in Linux). Even if it was not considered compatible with Mac OS, I thought that it was just impossible. I already own an Intuos 3 A4 Oversize which is really huge, I planned to buy a Bamboo but since this Trust tablet looks soo cool and is so cheap and portable I just decided to give it a go: I did a nice move, now I have the ideal tablet to use on the move with my MacBook Pro when I’m not at home. In these days?! Is this possible? Not really. The box says it’s compatible with Windows only. Lemme see the price… what?! Only 25 euros?! Man, it’s mine… wait a minute. The moment I’ve seen it in the store I was tempted to buy it. It’s produced by Trust and it’s a small and portable graphic tablet, an ultra thin model, made from some sort of soft rubber material, similar to a simple mousepad. The Flex Design Tablet by Trust is a really neat and cool graphic tablet I’ve seen yesterday on a Saturn store in Assago (Milan). UPDATE: after some suggestions from my readers (thank u guys!), I recommend you to go to this page and download the CyberTablet 12000 driver for MacOSX! That will work great with Photoshop and any other program, enjoy! □ For video storage, we had to purchase a subscription. It looks flawless, the combat system – FLESH – is mind-blowing and deeply violent, and there’s a fantastic mix of horror and humour to keep fans engaged for hours on end. It’s unequivocally Dead Island through and through, but it’s modernised to the max. I got to sit down with Dead Island 2 recently, and I was absolutely blown away by what I experienced. We’ve waited far too long for Dead Island 2, especially considering it was revealed a decade ago. I even enjoyed the cel-shaded spin-off, Escape Dead Island. I was a massive fan of the original Dead Island, which was released way back in 2011, and the follow-up title, Dead Island: Riptide. Personally, I’m incredibly excited by the prospect of Dead Island 2 dropping in just a few days. It’s a no-holds-barred introduction that perfectly lifts the lid on what to expect in the game ahead. In the short-but-sweet snippet of Dead Island 2 gameplay, we’re exposed to the very first scenes of the semi-open-world zombie epic that’s dropping in a matter of days. It’s an exciting glimpse into what’s to come, even if it isn’t technically showcasing anything brand new. For those too excited to wait for the game to drop on April 21st, there’s an 11-minute trailer doing the rounds showing a neat introduction to Dead Island 2’s gameplay – particularly in the initial, opening scenes of the game. For many web applications and databases, common access patterns either require hundreds or thousands of small file reads, or many concurrent small write operations, so this is a decent proxy of how a filesystem will perform under the most severe load (e.g. Since most filesystems (and even the slowest of slow microSD cards) are fast enough for large file operations (reading or writing large files in large chunks), I decided to benchmark one of the most brutal metrics of file I/O, 4k random read/write performance. media streaming, small file reads, small file writes, or database access patterns) benefits from different types of file read/write performance. Virtual Machines use virtual filesystems, or connect to folders on the host system via some sort of mounted share, to provide a filesystem the guest OS uses.įilesystem I/O perfomance is impossible to measure simply and universally, because every use case (e.g. One of the largest performance differentiators-and one of the most difficult components to measure-is filesystem performance. Tests such as file copies can have irregular results due to filesystem performance bottlenecks. iperf is an excellent tool for measuring raw bandwidth, as no non-interface I/O operations are performed. To measure raw virtual network interface bandwidth, I used iperf, and set the VM as the server ( iperf -s), then connected to it and ran the benchmark from my host machine ( iperf -c v). Having 40% more bandwidth available means VMware should be able to perform certain tasks, like moving files between host/VM, or your network connection (if it's fast enough) and the VM, or serving hundreds or thousands of concurrent requests, with much more celerity than VirtualBox-and we'll see proof of this fact with a Varnish load test, later in the post. It makes some sense, as VMware (the company) spends a lot of time optimizing VM-to-VM and VM-to-network-interface throughput since their products are more often used in production environments where bandwidth matters a lot, whereas VirtualBox is much more commonly used for single-user or single-machine purposes. This is one of the few tests in which VMware really took VirtualBox to the cleaners. A few hundred megabits should serve web projects in a local environment quickly. More bandwidth is always better, though most development work doesn't rely on a ton of bandwidth being available. I used Memory Bandwidth Benchmark (mbw) for the RAM benchmark, with the command mbw -n 2 256 | grep AVG, and I used the MEMCPY result as a proxy for general RAM performance. I used sysbench for the CPU benchmark, with the command sysbench -test=cpu -cpu-max-prime=20000 -num-threads=2 run. VMware and VirtualBox are neck-in-neck when it comes to raw memory and CPU performance, and that's to be expected these days, as both solutions (as well as most other virtualization solutions) are able to use features in modern Intel processors and modern chipsets (like those in my MacBook Air) to their fullest potential.ĬPU or RAM-heavy workloads should perform similarly, though VMware Fusion has a slight edge. I wanted to make sure VirtualBox and VMWare could both do basic operations (like copying memory and performing raw number crunching in the CPU) at similar rates both should pass through as much of this performance as possible to the underlying system, so numbers should be similar: The key question I wanted to answer: Is purchasing VMware Fusion and the required Vagrant plugin ($140 total!) worth it, or is VirtualBox 5.0 good enough? Baseline Performance: Memory and CPU I'll present each benchmark, some initial conclusions based on the result, and the methodology I used for each benchmark. I benchmarked the raw performance bits (CPU, memory, disk access) as well as some 'full stack' scenarios (load testing and per-page load performance for some CMS-driven websites). Since VirtualBox 5.0 was released earlier this year, I decided to re-evaluate the two VM solutions for local web development (specifically, LAMP/LEMP-based Drupal development, but most of these benchmarks apply to any dev workflow). I switched from VirtualBox to VMware Fusion (which requires a for-pay plugin) a year ago, as a few benchmarks I ran at the time showed VMware was 10-30% faster. Since I use build and rebuild dozens of VMs per day, and maintain a popular Vagrant configuration for Drupal development ( Drupal VM), as well as dozens of other VMs (like Ansible Vagrant Examples), I am highly motivated to find the fastest and most reliable virtualization software for local development. I do all my development (besides iOS or Mac dev) running code inside VMs, and for many years I used VirtualBox, a free virtualization tool, along with Vagrant and Ansible, to build and manage all these VMs. My Mac spends the majority of the day running at between one and a dozen VMs. Work Appropriate Shirts Portable Office Supplies 7.
